So we’ve talked a little about white hat and black hat SEO. But what about that middle ground that has become commonly referred to as Gray Hat? There are always two ends to a spectrum, and SEO is no exception. Gray hat SEO’s tend to sit on the fence between ligitimate SEO tactics and not so ligitimate tactics such as link farms and keyword stuffing.  A gray hat will tend to use unique, original content some of the time, but will also use syndicated, copied, and lower quality content as well.  They will also typically manage more sites than a white hat would, and less than a black hat, but they will be more “hit or miss” when it comes to getting positioning in the search engines and maintaining those positions. They will have to compete harder, and will have to work harder to get there and stay there once they get the position
